On 15/08/2006, Ministry of Planning and Investment issued a List of machinery, equipment, accessories for substitute, specialized transportation vehicle, construction materials, raw materials, semi-materials which can be domestically produced in order to set standard for exemption of VAT and Import Tax.

Foreign invested and domestic project which fall into the categories of Encouraged Investment Project should pay much attention to this regulation since the List will set a base for the application for exemption of construction materials imported for fixed assets and raw material, material, semi-product imported for the purpose of production (5 year of exemption) which is not produced in Vietnam.
